The Goal.

A comprehensive effort to close the state’s growing “housing gap” by producing one million more homes in 10 years—a plan that expands resources for subsidized affordable housing, while also increasing production of market-rate housing near transit and jobs.

The Problem.

With supply falling far below demand, California needs to dramatically increase the supply of all types of housing, including affordable housing for low- and middle-income earners. State resources are constrained and communities face obstacles to building more homes close to jobs and transit.
