Video: Creating the right workforce for California
When the first California Economic Summit is held on Friday May 11, one big topic is going to be the state's workforce. The bitter irony is that while our unemployment rate is still too high, there are many jobs in California which go unfilled because employers cannot identify and recruit good candidates for those jobs.
Manufacturing, in particular, is an area where employers say they need a deeper pool of qualified candidates. How we align the state's workforce with the jobs that are and will be available in the future is a major topic at the Summit.
